BEHIND THE SCENE
Makeup i used yesterday was not a high-end makeup. It was mostly a drugstore makeup that quality is approved by many beauty blogger and vlogger. I got idr 700k on my hand and i wanted to make a really good use of it to perfecting my makeup collection and to upgrade the endurance of my makeup. The rest of the makeup i used yesterday was already on my beauty case. I googled a lot of review about these beauty products before so here is what i got for less than idr 700k.
- Sleek Face Form Palette (Beautiful coral blush with gold pearlescent, a pretty highlighter, and a contour color in one palette.)
- 5 pieces of be Paris falsies in number 20 which i cut before to make it more natural.
- Marie Beauty Eye Cream Eyelash Glue (I don't understand why it's named eye cream, but this eyelash glue is super strong and cheap. Love it!)
- L.A. Girl Pro Concealer in Creamy Beige (I love how it blends naturally on top of foundation to cover up dark circles for girls with medium to darker skin tone)
- L.A. Girl Pro Concealer in Chestnut (This one is also perfect for creamy contouring for girls with medium to dark skin tone.)
- Revlon Colorstay Gel Eyeliner in Black Noir (It stays nicely on my oily and sweaty eyelid so i bet it's also stays nicely on a girl with less sweat and oily lid problems like mine.)
- Makeover Hydrating Primer (Perfect to hydrate skin before any makeup.)
- L.A. Girl Pro HD Setting Spray. (Affordable setting spray to lock everything in place.)
- Coty Airspun Loose Face Powder in Translucent Extra Coverage (The legendary high quality loose face powder with an affordable price.)
I got most of these products from Beauty Haul Indo that gives the best price and also from the legendary cosmetics shop in Bandung, Toko Mahmud.
However, with those amount of makeup is still feel i lack a few things such as a dark foundation and also a beautiful nude lipstick with a nice pigmentation. That's why i was being crafty and actually made my own dark foundie and a beautiful nude pink lipstick.
THE MAKEUP I USED
There are four girls that i makeover yesterday. They have different skin type and skin tone and i'm so glad that the foundation i had matches their skin and also covered their imperfections. - Last step. Spray some L.A. Girl Pro HD Setting Spray all over the face.
I learned that i can do a full makeup for one girl in 45 minutes. I began at 5 am and finished 4 girls makeup at 8 am. I usually spent a longer time to do my makeup just because i like it. Hehehe. I am so thankful to them because these girls don't demand a lot to me. They just sat there in front of me and let me do their face. They trusted their makeup to me, and i think that's what important for anyone who want to get their makeup done by any makeup artist. Just trust your face to us! We won't do anything that make you look ugly unless it's a special effect makeup. Hehehe..
THE RESULT
I feel so glad that they were happy with their makeup. The foundation gave an enough coverage and uniformity, and the makeup also stayed nicely on their faces when i came back at 2 pm. There are a lil bit oil on the girls with oily skin, but other than that it's fine. So i guess my first long endurance makeup experiment is SUCCEED. YAYY!!!!!
Everytime i did makeup for myself or other people i always remember what Lisa Eldridge always stressed on many of her videos that "Makeup should enhancing rather than masking". She taught me that layering so many foundation is not gonna do anything to your face other than make your face look cakey. If we have an imperfection on some part of our face, use a good concealer to conceal it rather than conceal all part of our face. I also learn from her that the real function of foundation is to give the uniformity to your whole skin. Some people do tend to put a thick foundation blanket all over their face when they actually only have to conceal some parts. You know, it's like generalizing that all Indonesian people's skin are dark or all asian girls eyes are small. This Lisa's philosophy just makes sense to me. I hate a thick and cakey look on people's faces. I think that the real makeup artist should be able to do what Lisa do. Because natural makeup trend will never fade away. And i'm still reaaaally far from that. If you wanna see Lisa do her natural magic makeup to a girl with acne problem, just click HERE
